About Edward Waite

Edward Waite is a contemporary British artist known for his vivid 3D textured cityscape artwork and instantly recognisable drizzle technique developed using ketchup bottles in a New York diner. Born in 1989 and educated in Fine Art at the University of Lincoln he only found his creative voice after two years travelling the world documenting cities cultures and chaos in sketchbooks filled with raw notes abstract thoughts and street scenes.

Back in the UK those ideas exploded into a full-blown career. Inspired by the energy of global city skylines he visited, Edward’s work paints urban life in full technicolour fast layered and always in motion. His colourful cityscape paintings feature global landmarks from the Eiffel Tower to Tower Bridge rendered in thick expressive lines of paint that bring each structure to life.

His visual language blends the structure of architectural drawing with the spontaneity of street art. Often compared to a mashup of Anselm Kiefer’s texture and Keith Haring’s energy his style is both accessible and powerful ideal for collectors of contemporary city art.

Waite’s work has been exhibited across the UK and internationally and is sought after by collectors of modern British city art. He has collaborated with luxury fashion designers wrapped his paintings around a full-size replica red phone box and incorporating his art into Savile Row suit linings. From galleries to schools, he inspires the next generation through hands-on creative workshops because for Edward art is for everyone.

His debut book A Time to Waite 2014 charts his journey from fine art graduate to internationally collected artist. Today, Edward Waite continues to create original artwork, limited edition prints, and statement cityscapes that are as much investments as they are centrepieces for any home, gallery, or office.
