Meet Nick the new member of the FIZZ team

Welcome to the Team Nick

We are thrilled to introduce Nick Fountain as the newest addition to our team in a new and vital Business and Administration role. Nick brings a wealth of experience, having excelled as a PA in the private, public and corporate sectors.  Her expertise in business administration and her fantastic organisational skills will be invaluable to our clients, as well as helping relieve Sandy and Fenella of the day-to-day operational tasks that take up so much time.

Nick will also be playing a key role in assisting with social media, website updating and helping to organise our events.

Having Nick on board has already made a difference for us, and in response to your requests,  Nick will be helping us to keep you more up to date with what’s new in the gallery. Over time we are also aiming to expand our range of events, to support not only our artists but also our jewellery designers and makers.

After just a few weeks, it already feels like Nick belongs here. And to top it all, she makes a damn good cuppa, but being a Yorkshire girl she should right?

Whilst Nick is office based much of the time, she will also be helping in the gallery so we hope you’ll meet her soon.

Nick answers a few questions for you…

I’m a Yorkshire girl at heart but moved to Clevedon with my family when I was a teenager so spent much of my youth in the local area. I ventured to the wilds of Bristol when I was in my early twenties but returned with my partner in early 2024 and am thoroughly enjoying being back here as an adult. Clevedon is such a friendly seaside town with a laid-back feel, yet still only a short drive from the bustle of the city so I can visit my son regularly.

I could never choose between the two. I love all animals and must stop and say hello to any that I pass (be it a horse, cow, dog or squirrel). I lost my labrador last year but now share a home with two very sociable Burmese cats who keep me on my toes!

Definitely the summer. People just seem happier and the colours are more vibrant, like a piece of uplifting artwork all around you!

It would need to be warm but not too hot and have somewhere where I can chill alongside an abundance of culture. My favourite holiday pastime is sitting outside a harbour café or bar with a drink in hand just people watching. I recently went on my very first city break to Porto and had the most amazing time – now I’m hungry for more!

My grandma said to me when I was a child “it’s nice to be important but more important to be nice” – it’s been my mantra throughout life

My partner and I are currently in full decorating mode so that takes up a lot of time. I’m a bit of a lazy bones at heart but make sure I get my 10,000 steps in each day. I love all genres of music and recently discovered that festivals aren’t just for youngsters

Too many to mention and it really depends on my mood. I love a Star Wars or Marvel movie but When Harry Met Sally is my absolute go to on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Eat Pray Love is also up there in my top ten alongside Monsters Inc. and Finding Nemo

I thought it was one of the nicest adverts I’d seen and really piqued my interest; I felt it had warmth and humour and could have been written specifically for me. They asked for their “next superstar” – well, my singing can clear a room and I haven’t worn heels for years but my cape has been dry cleaned and I’m definitely getting my groove on so I’m very happy to take on that mantle!

That every day is different. The gallery is such a tranquil space but the amount of planning and organisation that goes on behind the scenes to make this work is mind-blowing; a bit like a serene swan up top but paddling away furiously below.
