The stunning wildlife paintings of Debbie Boon are inspired by her passion to bring the canvas to life through observation and representation. Debbie states she aims to reflect life and all its visual personality and this enthusiasm can clearly be seen in her striking rural characters.
Working in heavy bodied acrylics with a rich, almost buttery texture and a variety of glazes, Debbie’s art is characterised by the energy and vivacity which clearly represents the passion she feels when faced with a subject that captures her imagination.
After graduating from Art College, Debbie worked in graphic design before becoming a well-known children’s illustrator as well as establishing herself as a respected painter in both commercial and private spheres. This ability to create characters is clearly visible in her work as Debbie is able to convey a deeply personal impression of each piece through the use of colour, light, movement and paint technique.
Debbie’s latest work sits with ease in both traditional and contemporary settings. She has exhibited at the the Concours d’Elegance exhibition which takes place at royal locations including St James’s Palace, Hampton Court Palace and the Palace of Holyrood house. Her work was also the choice for the Royal Box at The Royal Windsor Show and was later featured in a TV documentary.
